🎧 Listen Together — one-time setup

This app uses a free Firebase Realtime Database so you and your friends sync live (chat, queue, synced playback). Takes ~5 minutes, no server to run.

  1. Go to console.firebase.google.com and Add project (any name; you can skip Google Analytics).
  2. In the left menu open Build → Realtime Database → Create Database. Pick a location and start in test mode.
  3. Click the ⚙ gear → Project settings. Scroll to Your apps, click the </> Web icon, register an app, and copy the firebaseConfig object it shows you.
  4. Paste that config below and click Save & launch.

Tip: once you've launched, share the file with friends — they'll skip this screen because the config is saved. To bake the config in permanently (so no one sees this screen), paste it into the FIREBASE_CONFIG variable near the top of the file's script.
